The StoryTIC team is composed of five researchers specialized in language development from different perspectives. Below you will find more information about each of us.<\/p>\n
One of our goals as researchers is to bring research closer to educational practice, so that the research has a direct impact on improving the techniques used to promote oral language learning.<\/p>\n

Dr. Pilar Prieto is an ICREA research professor in the Dept. of Translation and Language Sciences at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Her research studies the multimodal properties of language and how they interact with communication and human language development. An applied branch of her research investigates the cognitive benefits of multimodal training that includes prosody and gesture in first and second language development. Co-creator of the tools \"Abans de les primeres paraules\" and \"Oralitat\", which contain tools and resources to improve communication.<\/p>\n

Part of his research is devoted to the development of tools applied to the improvement of language and communication in typical and atypical populations. She completed her doctoral thesis on the impact of virtual reality on the oral communication of high school students. She is currently doing a postdoc at the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) which aims to create and develop a virtual reality application to encourage and reinforce the learning of oral skills in secondary school students. In addition, she provides training for teachers of different educational levels for the application of oral skills in classrooms. In her research, she is interested in the use of gestures together with prosody to structure speech and express the pragmatic functions of language and how this information can be used for
